Ray has extensive involvement in the Australian finance and property industry at
a senior executive level.
Between 1975 and 1985, he worked for Citibank where he was the General Manager
Commercial Finance. During this period he had direct responsibility for the
Bank's NSW commercial finance real estate division. He was responsible for the
development, management and disposal of a substantial property book and had a
personal loan approval sign-off of $20 million for any single loan.
Between 1986 and 2001, Ray was the MD of Leda Holdings a property group with
substantial shareholders' funds. Ray was directly responsible for the Groups
finances, managing and negotiating the acquisition and sale of the Groups
properties which comprised over $1 billion in commercial, industrial and retail
property. He was also a pioneer in the securitization of commercial mortgages,
launching a $200 million Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities program supported
by two regional shopping centres.
From 2001 to July 2004, Ray was General Manager, commercial, industrial and
Retail development for the St Hillier's Property Group, responsible for St
Hillier's property developments and investments. These involved acquisition,
development (often in joint venture), as well as leasing, sale and financing of
the properties.
