Building connections in Wagga Wagga and the Riverina

October 30, 2026

Balmain was back in Wagga Wagga this October, continuing to build on the relationships we’ve developed across the Riverina.

Our visit brought together two very different events, but with something important in common: connecting with the local community.

On Friday evening, we hosted another Conversations with Balmain event, this year at the Wagga Wagga Country Club.

Over drinks and canapés, we caught up with familiar faces and made new connections with people from across the Riverina. Guests also had the opportunity to spend time with our Executive Chairman and Founder, Michael Holm, Head of Origination, Henry Holm, and Investment Executive, Nicholas McMahon.

It was a relaxed evening centred around good conversations and strengthening the relationships we continue to develop across the region.

The following day, we swapped the Country Club for cycling gear as the Balmain team once again got involved in the Gears + Beers Festival.

Held across 3 and 4 October, Gears + Beers is one of Wagga Wagga’s great community weekends, bringing together cyclists, families, local businesses and visitors for cycling, local food, entertainment and craft beer. Around 3,000 riders took part in this year’s event, despite the threat of poor weather.

Hosted by the Rotary Club of Wollundry, the festival is supported by volunteers and local community organisations, with proceeds going back to local charities. Since 2016, riders and sponsors have helped distribute more than $1.3 million to local causes.

Together, the two events reflect what matters to us at Balmain. Our connection with regional Australia is about being present, building relationships and supporting the communities we work with.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and welcomed us back to Wagga Wagga. We look forward to continuing our involvement in the Riverina.
